The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is the richest in the UK, yet many residents are unaware that the gap between its haves and have nots is disturbingly wide. For example, in an area of only 4.5 square miles, average life expectancy is only 73 in the north of the Borough, nearly 11 years less than in the south.
FOCUS K&C has been set up by local people to generate support for the more than 500 local charities addressing such social and economic issues, and to foster local pride and responsibility.
Working with local donors, we will ensure that funds are channeled to where they will be most effective, monitor grants and provide donors with feedback, offer vehicles for tax efficient giving and help donors to engage with local charities.
We will enable donors to achieve more collectively than they could individually.
